Digestion matters

A healthy digestive system is one of the most important factors in maintaining overall wellbeing.

I’m sure we’ve all heard (many times) the phrase:

You are what you eat

Well, it’s probably more accurate to say:

You are what you absorb

Fun fact: digestion is a complex process, involving a series of important steps as our meals travel from one end to the other. These include:

  • Breaking down our food into smaller nutrient compounds
  • Which allows us to absorb and utilise what we’ve been eating
  • Which actually turns our meals into medicine
